RIBBON CUTTING PARTY.

The ribbon cutting party for the Women of Hopkins portrait gallery was held on October 18th, 2016 in the Mattin Center courtyard. This was the launch of our grassroots effort to honor some of Hopkins' most accomplished women, celebrating awe-inspiring pioneers in fields as diverse as astronomy, biology, business and finance, geology, government, literature, mathematics, medicine, music, performing arts, physics, and social initiatives. These 23 women tore down gender barriers and shattered glass ceilings, won Nobel prizes, Grammy awards, and MacArthur Genius Grants. Our 600-square foot gallery in the Mattin Center highlights their amazing contributions as part of Hopkins' cultural legacy.

The agenda:

4:30-4:35 Introduction by Erin Gleeson of the Diversity Leadership Council.

4:35-4:40 Preliminary remarks from President Daniels.

4:40-4:50 Dedication of the Women of Hopkins project by Professor Karen Fleming.
